Are you a seasoned program management and sponsorship professional with a track record in major capital projects? If so, an exceptional opportunity awaits you. Join the team working on the largest building restoration project ever undertaken in the UK, focusing on the iconic Palace of Westminster.

This unique role involves being the Lead Delivery Sponsor for the Restoration and Renewal Delivery Authority. Your extensive experience will be crucial in setting up scope management and change control processes, ensuring the success of this technically challenging and historic program.

The Palace of Westminster, a symbol of democracy, covers 34 acres and comprises over 1,100 rooms, 100 staircases, and three miles of passageways. As we embark on this significant restoration, we are seeking a qualified and experienced program professional to contribute to the success of this monumental project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Programme Definition in collaboration with the Client function and Delivery Authority.
  • Ensure the program’s remit is understood, and delivery is coordinated and integrated with quality.
  • Control, align, and deliver the DA’s work in a consistent, transparent, and disciplined manner.
  • Provide a line of sight between the program and its benefits, acting as a broker between the delivery organization and the client.
  • Authorize major changes to scope or schedule, making tough decisions crucial to the program’s future.

Requirements:

  • Proven program management or sponsorship experience in major capital projects.
  • Familiarity with project controls and managing large-scale change.
  • Ability to operate autonomously under pressure and with authority.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships.
